Chinese Porcelain, Bronzes and Art From New England Homes

Asian-Chinese Art Sold Previously by plcombs Asian Art

Asian-Chinese art sold since 1979. Over the decades we've had the pleasure of evaluating, buying, selling and auctioning quite literally tens of thousands of objects for our customers. Due to our fortuitous location, the variety and range of Asian art found in New England is unmatched anywhere in the United States. This is especially true here on Boston's North Shore as well as in nearby New Hampshire and the coastal Maine.

Asian-Chinese Art Sold Previously from local estates and collections. Fine Chinese porcelain, bronzes, jade, statues and carvings. We buy and sell Chinese antiques of all types. Estate and old collections are especially desired by our customers.

Over the last three centuries starting with our history in the China trade, clipper ships created a foundational repository of Asian art scattered throughout our region. By the end of the late 19th C. and into the early 20th C. additional treasures were brought back from China and Japan. These later collections were gathered in particular by wealthy "Yankee" collectors doing business abroad. Today many of these treasures can be seen in museums throughout New England. A couple hours spent at the Museum of Fine Art Boston, or the Peabody-Essex Museum in Salem examining these objects and their donor labels tells the tale.

All of these are no longer with us here and have gone to new homes and collections. We are however always looking for more for our customers.

Below is a sampling of just a few of the things we've sold over the last 45 years, Some are very rare, some are more common. All are good examples.
